All About Me
My Name is Bailey I am a Multimedia & Digital Artist.
I graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2020 with
a First Class Honours in Interactive Arts.
My art has a focus on wellbeing and mental health, and how art can help improve those aspects of people’s lives. Much of my work has involved engaging with people from all walks of life, collaborating with other students and artists, arranging exhibitions and work with venues and Manchester-based charities and even setting up this website. Our Stories Matter combines my art (with a focus on self-care and wellbeing) with community input, For example: personal stories about mental health or collaborations with charities and other artists.
Below you can see some examples of my work & experience.
Cartwheel Arts: Project Assistant
I began working at Cartwheel Arts in May 2021 as a Project Assistant. Cartwheel arts is a community art charity that has been running for over 35 years. They work with communities across Greater Manchester on participatory arts projects. As part of my work with Cartwheel Arts, I’ve assisted on various projects, Like their Little artists group in Deeplish, The Poetry Miles, Darnhill Arts week & 'Art & Soul which is a participant lead art group that focuses on art for wellbeing. I also managed my own project collaborating with The Proud Trust LGBTQ+ youth group in Rochdale.
During my time at Cartwheel I attended various training sessions:
-Risk Assessment training
-Intro to bid writing
-Equality & Diversity
-Working together to safeguard Children
-Implementing Arts & Culture for Children's Mental Health
-Understanding Brand & Branding
-ABC OF LGBT (Understanding terminology, language & pronouns)
As part of my role at Cartwheel I was able to do some design work, I worked on a postal project where I created the painting activities and instruction postcards, the theme was acrylic paint & each card showed a different way to use the paint. Participants of the postal project received a package of materials & the postcards were sent out weekly. I also Designed a poster for a community café at Darnhill Library & worked on some booklet designs for The Poetry Miles. I also designed content for their social media platforms.
42nd street: Freelance Work
